How one photographer is able to trademark a term that's discriptive to a whole genre. This is how monopoli is created.
Personally, as a pet-photographer i believe that we have a beautiful branche, there's a lot of great artists, whose work is incredible and who i've come to know personally and befriend over the course of many years. Amongst these great names there's even photographers who operate in the same niche offering the same services as i do, yet we applause eachothers work and chat casually about work related stuff. We are not a threat to eachother.
That's why one of my core values is to keep the pet photography branche a cheerful and respectful community.
As a teacher, its necessary to have zero jelousy, and allow others all the fame of the world. In my opinion, one simply only call himself a a good teacher if he allows others to thrive.

On the morning of April, 26th 2024, My collegue Emily received a warning that there has been a trademark enfringement.
It regarded my action photography webinar. There was a line that contained the words ''DOGS IN ACTION''.
The fellow photographer who wishes to remain anonimous requested us not to use this term anymore.
As annoying as this is, we cannot use these simple words anymore to discribe the genre of our photo's.
Because it's the literal description of a whole genre, it's a highly overreaching trademark and this photographer can bully anybody he wants with. He's in his right to do so, but i find it a highly distrubtive action. Its just dirty games. We will find another fitting description.

But, why?
This photographer operates in the same genre as i do, and it isn't the first time he intented to disrupt me.
Obviously, this collegue sees me as a threat to his reputation and does what ever he can to it harder for me to be succesful in my work.
